Now that the weather is starting to cool I have decided that the time has come to find the best places for a Sunday Roast in Melbourne. So I ask you out there in the world if you can please respond to this post with any recommendations. Also let me know if they have live music on Sundays because that is an added bonus. I am going to try a different place every Sunday until I am satisfied that I have found the winner and then I will be content to sit back with my big fat pregnant belly and consume roast until Winters end.
Nick's Friend Johnny is here from the UK this weekend and I thought we might try out the Sunday Roast at The Grace Darling Hotel in Collingwood. If their Roast is as good as their Chicken Parmigiana we may have our first contender.
Very hard to go past The Commoner in Fitzroy

ReplyDeleteThe Elwood RSL has the best roast of beef with trimmings that I have had in a long while. Available Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Elwood RSL is on the corner of Ormond Road and Pine Avenue. Check out the menu http://www.elwoodrsl.com.au/bistro.html
Thanks Em, I will try and head over to Elwood RSL in the coming weeks. I bet they do a good Traditional Roast.
ReplyDeleteI had roast at the Gem yesterday, it was pretty good! Not really very fancy, but warm and satisfying!
